Destination Washington, D.C.

This weekend I had brunch with some women I met in high school 10 years ago. Over french toast and mimosas we talked about work, relationships, and the gentrification of our hometown of Washington, D.C.

It's been about a month since I moved back home and when one of the ladies asked me why I returned I was still no closer to an answer. Then I stumbled across this clip of Kristin Chenoweth singing the song Stephanie Mills and Diana Ross made famous in the play and movie The Wiz... (my clip from the show expired...sorry, but enjoy the karaoke version ; )

...and I think that about SUMS IT UP!

Doggie Dish: Dog Park Review

There is a major shortage of dog parks in Washington DC; I'm getting down and dirty with the doggies to review DC's Dog Parks! by Brea Ellis

In the Petworth neighborhood you'll find The Greenspace at 11th and Park Road. If you're coming from NW take 13th Street and make a left on Monroe, then go about two blocks and the park is on your right at the corner of 11th & Park Road. The main entrance to the park is on the 11th Street side in between the poop bag dispensers and trash cans; there is also an entrance on Park Road near the beginning of the fence. Ignore posted notices about maintaining a 2-lock system, that information is for WMATA who also uses the park to house some equipment.

Freebie: Starbucks Happy Hour

Starbucks is promoting their new "have it your way" Frappuccino. If you've ever tried to order a soy Frappucino, or one with an extra shot of espresso you know the company has a "no substitutions" policy, mainly because they make their Fraps from a premixed liquid and ice. I guess enough people have complained because Starbucks is introducing the "Create Your Own" Frappuccino, so if you like Soy milk, extra coffee (although there is no actual coffee in a Frap), or anything else your heart desires...the choice is yours!

It's no longer a rumor - now at Starbucks you can customize your very own Frappuccino® blended beverage. How will you express your love for this sweet indulgence? The possibilities are nearly endless - and the choice is all yours.

• Choose Your Milk
Will it be nonfat, 2%, whole or soy?

• Pick Your Coffee
Extra coffee? A shot of espresso? Decaf perhaps?

• Lower Your Calories

Celebrity Gossip: Couple Alert

Holy Reality Star Mashup!
by Brea Ellis

Angela Simmons, star of MTV's "Daddy's Girls", is linked to fellow reality star Rob Kardashian. Simmons is the daughter of 80's rapper turned reverend Joseph Simmons, who has close to 1 million followers on Twitter; Kardashian is the youngest child of O.J. Simpson lawyer the late Robert Kardashian.

These two have already been featured on reality TV so perhaps their relationship will survive the Reality Romance curse that has befallen such stars as Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro, and most recently Jon and Kate Gosselin. Good luck young lovers!
