BrandlinkDC recently hosted a b*tchin' bash at Bethesda's Ginger Boutique to celebrate the release of Jill Kargman's new book, The Rockstar in Seat 3A. I wore my Rockstar jeans from Old Navy, my Ann Taylor strappy sandals (so comfortable) and a sequin Chico's top. Bet you didn't know Chico's could be so edgy!

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe! {blouse- Zara// pants- H&M// shoes- Ann Taylor}

These are the last of my country time photos...I've showed you "How I Roll" in the 2012 Jeep Liberty; you've learned all about the historic town of Weldon, NC and gotten a glimpse of my aunt and uncle's amazing country home. I'm a city girl through and through, but sometimes you've got to get out of town and enjoy the fresh air!

All this week I've been posted about my weekend spent road tripping to the historic town of Weldon, NC. I was in town to visit my Aunt and Uncle who live in Weldon. They live in an sprawling country home. It has a big front porch complete with old rocking chairs and a large fenced in yard out back with their own garden. We spent our days eating homemade breakfast like omelettes with fresh spinach and peppers and buckwheat waffles made to order. I even had a photo shoot in one of the upstairs rooms...check out a photo when you click READ MORE a the bottom of this post.
Comfy bed in my room
How about breakfast potatoes fresh from the garden?
Now that's the real meaning of farm to table!
The country air does something to my brain!

Protect Your Pumps

I hope you've been enjoying the HUMP DAY HEELS series,
published every Wednesday on my blog.

Some weeks are harder than others,
but I get through them with a little help from some fabulous shoes!

My shoes get by with a little help from a great product called  PROTECT YOUR PUMPS.  Shown (left) with the use of the product, (middle) after 4 wears using the product on only one shoe, (right) without the product
I first heard about Protect Your Pumps on the blog Sparkling Footsteps and I immediately ordered a pouch (containing 3 sets); they were quickly shipped to me and easy to apply. After raving about how much I loved wearing the PROTECT YOUR PUMPS product on my HUMP DAY HEELS the company reached out to me to sponsor this post. In return I was sent an additional set of pump protectors, which I plan to use as an excuse to buy more shoes! Happy Hump Day!

Weldon, NC

I recently visited the historic town of Weldon located in North Carolina.

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!{hat- Target// blouse- Ann Taylor// shorts- J.Crew// shoes- J.Crew// bracelet- Madewell// sunglasses- Coach}
You may have spotted Weldon on your way down 95; its the first town in the state after leaving Virginia. The town is known as the ROCK FISH CAPITAL OF THE WORLD and is home to the Roanoke River; their slogan is "Get Hooked On Weldon" and recently they installed an art installation that includes 30 rock fish statues located throughout the town, similar to the DC Panda statues
The centerpiece of this installation is "Rocky" the 4,000 lb striped bass statue, which attracts tons of visitors daily and is an homage to the annual fishing tournaments that take place in Weldon and neighboring towns.
