Ugly Christmas Sweater

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!hat & jeans- Madewell | vest- J.Crew | sweater- District Flea | shoes- Nordstrom| bag- Violet Boutique {Location: Eastern Market} Christmas is such a weird time of year for me. Part of my family is Muslim the other part non-practicing Catholic and growing up we celebrated Kwanzaa; so when Christmas comes around I'm never really sure how to participate. This year I spent some quality time with my mom and sister during the holiday, which is always on my wish list. This was also my first year in my new home so I invited them over for a Christmas Day brunch and gift exchange, then a few days later my mom and I had a spa day together. I will say there is one Christmas tradition I am well versed in...the day after Christmas shopping! How do you celebrate Christmas?

Little White Dress

Is white is the new black? Instead of an LBD I've been spotting some sexy Little White Dresses all over town. Would you rock an LWD?

Oompa Loompa...Happy Halloween!

This year I had no idea what i wanted to dress up as for Halloween, but while browsing the mall I spotted this amazing green wig at ALDO Accessoriesin Pentagon City Mall. Who knew ALDO sold wigs? My entire costume was inspired by my NEED to wear this wig. Thanks to the sweet sales girls at ALDO for coming up with the idea of being an Oompa Loompa
How do you think this year's costume compares to previous ones? Check out my Nicki Minaj Halloween costume from last year and don't forget about my Amy Winehouse costume. Happy Halloween!

Lately...tip to toe!

Lately... I've been crushing over the launch of Topshop for Nordstrom at Pentagon City Mall. This Topshop faux fur vest is the softest thing EVER. And that pink cable knit sweater is on sale!
Lately... I've been wearing all of my old Target designer collaboration pieces...remember this floral skirt from the Jason Wu for Target line? I also have the matching top. The most epic of the Target collaborations was hands down Missoni for TargetLately... I've been taking advantage of these last few warm nights to wear strappy heels and hang out on rooftops.
Lately...I've been trying to perfect the "tip-to-toe" selfie and man is itvhard work! My point and shoot camera died and now I'm relying on my iPhone 5 for all of my outfit photos...whats a blogger to do? Can anyone recommend an affordable, user friendly camera? I may be ready to upgrade to a DSLR. Suggestions welcome in the comments section! What have you been up to lately?

Summertime Sadness

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!sweater- Massimo Dutti | dress- Prabal Gurung for Target | shoes- Ann Taylor | bag- Puerto Rico
I recently celebrated a birthday and I was so excited to wear this dress. The whole summer had gone by and I hadn't had a chance to rock it. Pairing the dress with an open weave sweater made it the perfect Pre-Fall outfit. How do you think it compares to last year's birthday outfit? Bye summer...

The Art of Fashion

WHAT I WORE:  tip to toe!dress- Goodwill | shoes- Ann Taylor | bag- Kitson
This year's Fashion of Goodwill Runway Show & Gala hosted by Goodwill of Greater Washington was spectacular. I got to wear the dress I purchased at last year's event and mingled with loads of other bloggers. I'm always so impressed by all of the great things the organization does with the money we spend purchasing vintage clothes. Check out what I purchased at this year's Art of Fashion pop up shop. The Motor City

These photos were taken on the Detroit Riverwalk just a few short days before the city filed for bankruptcy. I was saddened, but not surprised by the news. I wish the city and most importantly its residents all the best in its recovery. I hope this is an opportunity for the entire community to rebuild and not an excuse to speed along the gentrification process. I'll climb down off my soapbox now, enjoy the photos!
