#HouseCrush Home Decor Swap

WHO: Dewdrop, a local company started by fellow DC native Kristine Thomas, which produces fashion events such as clothing swaps, which benefit charitable organizations like Goodwill Greater Washington.

WHAT: You are invited to join me at Dewdrop's first-ever home décor swap, #HouseCrush. Get together with a fun group of ladies and find stylish home items to spice up your rooms for the new year.

WHERE: Keller Williams Realty event space | 2101 Wilson Blvd, Arlington VA

WHEN: Saturday, February 6th from 1 to 4pm | Swap begins at 2:30pm

HOW: You'll need to buy a ticket to the swap; you can do so online by clicking HERE...tickets are $15+ tax in advance or $20+ tax at the door. Or you can win a free ticket by entering my contest on YouTube and Instagram.

Never been to a home decor swap before? Here's how it works:
First, you'll need to go through your home décor and decide what you can part with. Look for things that no longer fit your interior design aesthetic, but you would still give to your best friend. Bring as many items you can fit in one of those big blue IKEA bags. If it’s a magazine rack and it fits, bring it. Or it can be several smaller items, as long as they fit in the bag. Bring a minimum of 5 items. Limit 1 bag per person.

Look for things you might see in Pottery Barn, West Elm or Pier 1 not William Sonoma.
Suggested items:

  • decorative pillows
  • frames
  • throws
  • wall decor
  • poufs
  • mirrors
  • unused candles

(ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: lamps/rugs/appliances/curtains/towels/slipcovers/damaged or dirty items)
The swap is happening Saturday, February 6th at the Keller Williams Realty office in Arlington (near Court House metro) and street parking is available in front of the building. Items can be dropped off between 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and swapping will begin at 2:30 pm.
Make sure you arrive early! There will be awesome swag bags for the first 50 swappers through the door as well as several speakers and vendors. As you shop from vendors like Stella & Dot, Jamberry, and Rodan + Fields, enjoy a cocktail hour with a complimentary drink and delicious appetizers.
All items that aren’t swapped will be donated to charity partner Goodwill of Greater Washington so don’t forget, you’re swapping for a great cause!
Have fun collecting your items–take a look at my YouTube video to see what I'm bringing. I can’t wait to see you February 6th!

Winter White

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!

Shop similar items...
Look #1: sweater / skirt / shoes
Look #2: coat / shoes

Happy New Year! Hope you all had an amazing holiday! I spent mine with my family at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, VA we ordered ALOT of room service, sat by the firepit and didn't have to clean up...that's my kind of holiday! When we got back my mom hosted her annual Kwanzaa dinner, which we like to call Kwanzamas

It was 70 degrees on Christmas day and many people have said the warm weather cheated them out of a true holiday season; do you agree? I say...since the weather isn't playing by the rules, neither am I.

White after Labor Day (and before Memorial Day)...yep! All bets are off. What fashion rules are you breaking in 2016?

Signature Silhouette

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!

Get the look:

So...remember back in 2013 when I made it my New Year's resolution to develop a signature style? And we decided that a structured blazer was my spirit animal? Welp...fast forward three years and it looks like I've settled into an entire signature silhouette.

This tunic flowy top/narrow leg/high boot look is my jam and I've been rocking it so many different ways lately. Long duster cardigans over skinny jeans...shift dresses over leggings...I can switch it up and still create a look that is flattering for my body. Have you figured out a signature silhouette?
