5 Best Beauty Products for Winter at Target

Winter is coming...although not this weekend as its going to be 70 degrees in DC on Saturday, but its will sneak up on you so lets be prepared. Here are my picks for the 5 best beauty products available at Target to winterize your skin.

Cera Ve $13 (16 oz)
I've been using CeraVe Moisturizing Creamas a body lotion for the last month. Its thick and is well absorbed by the skin, but isn't greasy. It also doesn't have a scent so you can layer it under your perfume or use it with your body wash. I found it moisturizing all day and felt like $13 for a 16 oz jar (think 2-3 body butters stacked) is a great value. Works just as well as the body butter I was buying at $20 for less than 7oz.

BONUS USE: Hand Cream; scoop some out into a small container and keep it in your purse or at your desk as a hand cream.

Aquaphor $5 (1.75 oz)
I love Aquaphor as a hand cream. It's almost medical grade moisture for dry skin in winter. I think it's original use was diaper rash cream for…

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!
Over the weekend REI- a brand that sells camping gear- created a whimsical pop-up campsite to celebrate the launch of their new line evrgrn
What's fun about the evrgrn range is that its just as useful at a music festival (or one of those fancy condo rooftops) as it is in the woods. Since I'm not much for roughing it its the other uses of the evrgrn items that would make me wander into the new REI store (scheduled to open Fall 2016) across from the NOMA-Gallaudet metro station atUline Arena.
The evrgrn line includes seat cushions with space to conceal carry a few beers into Jazz in the Garden and wearable sleeping bags perfect for catching a movie under the stars or waiting in line for the new iPhone release.
I'm always threatening to rent a Yurt and go I can just set up camp in my backyard!

The Big Chop

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!Why yes... I AM doing something different with my hair! Thanks for noticing ; ) I've strugged with thinning hair, caused by (we think) scarring alopecia, for a few years. It's been quite a journey trying to determine the cause and to reverse the affects of my hair loss. I've stopped using heat on my hair, gotten steroid injections into my scalp and even had my scalp biopsied; not to mention all the medicated shampoos and creams I've slathered on. I saw some results from the reduction of heat usage, but overall my hair growth was at a standstill. The hairdresser that has been doing my hair for the past year mentioned that she thought the key to me getting a healthy scalp might be starting from scratch; she pointed to a woman with a closely shorn head and said that she thought my face could carry the look. I thought about it for a few months and then after an appointment at the salon I told my hairdresser I wouldn't be rebooking to give me tim…

Grey Sweatshirt Dress

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe! dress: Lou & Grey for LOFT sandals: Banana Republic(on sale!)Ok, one last thing about this new Lou & Grey line at LOFT (an no I'm not sponsored by them, I purchased these pieces with my own money...I just stumbled upon them and I really like them!) this dress has been in heavy rotation! If you follow me on Instagram you saw me wear over my bikini on a scorcher of a day when I went to the pool. I've also worn it to a last minute brunch, its so easy to just throw on with a pair of grey New Balance sneakers.
My friends have said this is actually a shirt or tunic, but since I've gone out to several public places in it without pants I'm going to go ahead and proclaim this to be a dress mmmkay?

Lou & Grey at the LOFT

WHAT I WORE: tip to toe Shop my dress: Lou & Grey Shop my bag: Forever 21 Shop my shoes: Birkenstock
I'm certainly a fan of Ann Taylor (as evidenced in previous blog posts) and her lower-priced sister store, the LOFT. So its no surprise that I picked up a few pieces recently. The LOFT is carrying a new athleisure line called Lou & Grey. Its a very ethereal line based on the senses. My personality is often whimsical so the line really spoke to me...seriously most of the pieces were 50% off at the LOFT store I visited and it was so hard not to buy up everything.

Have you purchased any pieces from Lou & Grey?
