WHAT I WORE: tip to toe!

sweatshirt- Kohl's | jeans- Madewell | watch- Movado BOLD

clutch*- Sip and Sew DC

Well here's a first... today's outfit includes a piece I made myself! See that clutch* I'm holding? That, my friends, is the result of a recent afternoon spent sipping wine and learning to sew at the Anacostia Arts Center.

Who would have thought that someone who has never touched a sewing machine could complete a project like this in only a few hours! Clearly I'm ready for Project Runway!

Sip and Sew DC is taught by Cecily S. Habimana (Simply Cecily) and Tisha Thorne (Tisha Sewing Studio) and is a laid back way to learn basic sewing techniques, hang out with your pals and create a piece of fashion with your own hands! Previous classes have created pants, skirts and sundresses; all materials are provided (sewing machines, fabric, patterns, etc.) as well as a little liquid courage.

Sign up for the March 28th class at sipandsewdc.eventbrite.com and make sure to arrive early to the Anacostia Arts Center for brunch at Nürish or to shop Cecily's wear's at Nubian Human.
